The Alto Sarca Fishing Association manages one of the alpine best-preserved trout fisheries: this is the Sarca River area flowing in the Rendena valley, besides the river main flow this area is characterized by its tributaries and various clear-water mountain lakes.

The main Rules

Our association welcomes You on our waters, and recommends to practice catch and release fishing.

Species

Marble trout (trota marmorata, Salmo marmoratus):
according to our regulation, no more than 2 fish/day are to be kept. Min size 35cm.
Although for this rare and important specie catch and release is highly recommended.


Brown trout (trota fario, Salmo trutta fario):
according to our regulation, no more than 5 fish/day are to be kept. Min size 22cm.


Brown- Marble trout hybrid (ibrido marmorata fario):
according to our regulation, no more than 5 fish/day are to be kept. Min size 22cm


Another specie characterizing the Sarca River inhabitants is the Grayling, although its number has dropped in the last years, mainly due to cormorans. Moreover some of our mountain streams and lakes feature rich Brook- and Alpine Brook- trout populations.

How to fish in Sarca river

To fish in Italy you need a specific fishing licence for foreign guests. Besides this you need to buy the Alto Sarca Fishing Association daily permit. In a sum you need two licenses: a national one, and a local one.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET THE LICENSE: The licence is normally ready in 1 to 3 working days, and can also be sent by mail.
